SAR USDMSG is intended to alleviate poverty and create job opportunities, disseminate farmer‟s information down to grassroots level and convert subsistence farming to commercial farming and strengthen the National Strategic Plan II for Food Security and Safety. Marakeng is the coordination platform designed to systematically coordinate agricultural stake-holders, giving farmers access to required information for production and market as well. There is an absolute need for knowledge in a fast paced, rapidly changing world, and all available resources must be employed to for poverty reduction, food security and safety. Globalization of agricultural trade, privatization in agricultural economies, environmental standards, advancements in science, agricultural services and efficiency enhancing information technologies - these and other global drivers make information a prerequisite for action, hence the need for Marakeng.co.ls
